New Years Eve

So today is New Years eve. Not going to lie, I have a 710 ml bottle of ginger ale in front of me right now. Trying to drink all the pop I can before tomorrow. I am only at work for three hours so I did have a bunch of veggies as a lunch/snack thing though so that is good right?

Last night I made 31 of those essential oils pills I wrote about. I was finding it hard to add the oils in by adding two droppers, they would just get different amounts of oil in each time. So instead what I did was put thirty drops of each oil in to a little container (glass) and would use that as my mix of oils. It turned out great! I then put them in the freezer (remember to do this as if they aren't frozen the oils will eat through the plastic pill shell) I had one this morning and I didn't find that it made me feel ill like other pills have, so far so good.

I have to go grocery shopping again and this time I will have time to go to both grocery stores in town. The main one I got to was out of half the things on my grocery list so I still need some staples like frozen veggies and apples (I really only like the green apples). Oh life in the great white north, never know what the grocery stores are going to have.

Essential oils

I thought I would do a quick post on essential oils while I am on a roll of posting.

I meet some women here in Yellowknife a few months ago that sold young living essential oils. At first I didn't even look at the oils. I thought nah that stuff doesn't work! A few craft sales latter ( I make a sell jewelry) I was getting interested, I had been hearing all these people talking to these ladies about how they work so well and this and that. So I went over and talked to the lady I knew best and asked if there was anything good for migraines ( I get them all the time since I moved to Yellowknife). She said there was but they were the more expensive ones and before I spent a bunch of money to try the peppermint, she didn't have a new bottle in stock but i bought a defuser necklace and she put some drops in for me from her bottle.

It was amazing! I would smell the peppermint when i felt a headache coming on and it would stop it right in its tracks. So did some more research on essential oils and I bought the premium starter kit from young living. The amount of things you can use essential oils for is amazing! I don't sleep the best, so I put some ceaderwood in my humidifier and sleep like a baby. I felt a cold coming on so I used some thieves for that on my feet and the next morning was feeling a 100 percent.

Now when I first started researching essential oils I kept coming across oils that help you lose weight. I don't know for sure how well they work, my guess is that they work differently for everyone. I have been using a homemade grapefruit oil with coconut oil lotion I made and I can see a small difference in the way my skin looks. I came across a blog about making a trio of oils pill to help lose weight. It seems like it is kind of like the PGX pill so I ordered some empty pills and I am going to add it in to my routine in January to see how it works.

The recipe for the pills can be found here: http://stuffparentsneed.com/essential-oils-weight-loss/

Along with all this I have also started to make my own lip balm and hand creams. The stuff we put on our bodies that are bought in the store is so bad for us and I find the natural stuff works way better. Yellowknife is a very dry climate and having good lotion and lip balm is key.

I first bought my stuff from Young living and I love their products but about a week ago I found out that a local pharmacy carries another line of oils. While they don't have all the oils I am going to go there first before ordering online. (I also paid for the express shipping and it took about three weeks to get to me so I wasn't to happy with that).

Workout plan!

Here is my workout plan, it's a combo of monthly workout challenges I have found online, me going to the gym and an add on or two.
There is two days a week I can't get to the gym so for those days I did the same as the day before and sit ups. If I was going to the gym but push ups and squats was a rest I added sit ups.

Machines is like the stair master and treadmill

February I am going to add in weights

Before I start

Hello everyone.
I am starting this blog in hopes that it will help me stay on track over the next year.

It is December 30th, and with that New Years is not far away and I have like every year thought of my resolutions. Last year I cut out chips and with great success I only had one small bowl one crazy day at work.

This year I decided to cut out pop! I drink a lot of it, I love it, I even have a soda stream to make my own!! It is going to be a tough thing to do but I believe I can do it!

Before the holidays started I was going to the gym 3-4 times a week, eating really healthy and even had lost 20 pounds! I was so excited. Then the holidays came, and I was too busy to go the the gym but still was eating pretty healthy. Then the treats came out and all that work I did before the holidays went down the hill. I still haven't looked on the scale out of fear..... I know i didn't gain the whole 20 pounds back but probably a lot of it.

So with that I decided I needed a boost in the new year. So I put together a workout plan and started a healthy menu.

I will post my menu up in a few minutes and a picture of my workout plan.
